WE ARE WITH YOU ANNA HAZARE

ANNA HAZARE WE ARE WITH YOU...

I have seen the poor almost all these years .But I have seen the plight of the poor last winter. We went to see off our relatives at New Delhi Railway station in January(winter will be at its peak at that time here). The trains were all delayed for almost 18 hours due to fog.So people were stranded on the platforms. We dressed up as warriers going to fight the chilled weather.Even then,we were not comfortable with the cold.

Waiting on the platform,I see a group of three kids of age not more than three years. They were very scantily dressed just the bare minimum. Then I notice their family..a joint family..( they left their village to earn a living in this big city of Delhi. They had no idea where to head for). Even they were not properly dressed for the winter. That was a shock for me.Then I notice. kids being fed. They were not fully fed, because the parents wanted to save some food for the kids for next day too.I could not see that any more, kids crying for more food, mother, who wanted to feed them to the fullest but could not do so.She wanted her kids to be fed atleast with some food the next day so that they can survive.I could feel her pain.Chills ran down my spine.I no longer felt the cold.

That was the most terrible thing I saw in my entire life.iI could not stop my tears.A very good friend of mine mentioned the famous line"Roti,Kapda aur makaa-(food-cloths-place for living) the basic things for survival are almost being deprived for them. This is just one of many such families going through such poor conditions.I am sure there are people who are in such conditions who cannot feed their kid atleast once in 2 days.

Poverty is the worst enemy.I realised it.

There is never a meal I eat with out remembering the family I saw that day.I feel guilty that even when people are sleeping with starved stomachs,I eat to the fullest and sleep. But I am trying to do some thing or the other by helping the needy which helps me to bid off that guilt.

But I think the government should feel guilty and not me some times. If at all government was functioning with its" fullest power" againt corruption,do you think any single person in our country would be deprived of Roti-kapda aur makaan????

I am with you Anna Hazare.......
